I know people typically wait until the spring to start cleaning up and clearing out (hence the term: Spring Cleaning) however, I have had just about enough of the mess that is under my bathroom sink that I couldn’t wait until spring. I just couldn’t! Every time I needed to get a curling iron or straightening iron or my blow dryer, I felt like I was in one of those ridiculous infomercials where the person trying to do a normal everyday type of thing makes it seem like it’s way harder than it actually is in order to show why they need to buy this new-fangled super product that will definitely make their lives soooo much easier. That was me…getting frustrated and murmuring under my breath as I tried to retrieve one of my hair appliances from my cabinet and always ended up with a mess of cords all knotted together and in an effort to grab one item, 2 more fell at my feet in a loud crash. Ugh!!! I have had enough of that nonsense! Then, as I was reading one of my fave blogs www.houseofroseblog.com , I saw that she was hosting a linky party for the “Dog Days (of Winter) Are Over” and organization was the topic for the first day! Serendipitous! It was perfect timing!
I really racked my brain trying to come up with a budget-friendly solution that would work and fit all of my stuff and then I saw a pin on Pinterest. Ahh, yes…Pinterest…a girl’s best solution-finding friend…have I mentioned how much I love Pinterest? Well, if not…I am now…I looooove Pinterest!! I have made so many recipes and gotten so many ideas from that wonderful site…I would hug it if I could. Seriously, I would. But…I digress…back to the matter at hand…organizing that horrible mess that loomed under my bathroom sink. The pin I saw had a picture of a magazine holder type thing that was used to hold a hair dryer. That gave me the idea that if it would work for a hair dryer, certainly it would work for my curling irons and straightening irons! So, I did what any normal person would do and went straight to my favorite store…Target. For under $20, I got my cabinet organized and fabulous! Woohoo! I bought 2 magazine holders and 1 basket. The basket was for all the hair and beauty products that would fall all over the place every time I reached in to grab something that may have been behind something else. It was a domino effect. Super annoying. :-/ The basket seemed like it would keep everything corralled in such a way as to make it easier for me to grab something without causing everything else to fall over. It worked! Hooray!! Here are the before and after pics:
Thanks for stopping by! And if you found me via the “Dog Days (of Winter) Are Over” linky party, please look over my other posts to see some other projects I’ve done on a budget and leave me a comment if you would.
